Explosive Ordnance Logistics Reform Program
Smart Nine have recently had the pleasure of supporting WBHO in their tender for the Explosive Ordnance Logistics Reform Program (Works Package 2, NSW and VIC) for the Department of Defence adding to our experience in working on defence projects.
Defence’s Explosive Ordnance (EO) supply chain network is a critical enabler to Navy, Army and Air Force operations and training. This network provides direct support to multiple Defence capabilities (including troops, combat vehicles, aircraft and naval vessels) through the acquisition, transportation, storage, distribution, handling, maintenance, return and disposal of EO products.
The EOLRP Project involves the upgrade of Defence Explosive Ordnance (EO) Depots all around Australia, with the works package being tendered on by WBHO including the following depots:
- EO Depot Mangalore
- EO Depot HMAS Cerberus
- Point Wilson Explosives Area
- EO Depot Twofold Bay
Works include the construction of administration buildings, earth covered buildings, ammunition process buildings, non-EO storage buildings, and the civil and engineering services to support these facilities. These include pavements, traverses, electrical, hydraulic, communications and security.
Smart Nine worked closely with the WBHO Project team in drafting and finalising the Project Management Plans and supporting documentation for the tender. This enabled the WBHO Project team to focus on the more technical side of project planning and leave these highly administrative tasks in Smart Nine’s capable hands.
